Cornell Smith

Cornell Smith, age 83, husband of Virginia (Horner) Smith of London, Kentucky passed away Sunday December 10, 2017 at Baptist Health Corbin. He was the father of Cornell Smith Jr. of Hudson, Florida, Brenda Heims of Lake Station, Indiana, Linda Kovats of Hobart, Indiana, and Debbie Ransom of Valparaiso, Indiana; the brother of Tim Smith and J.E. Smith both of London, Kentucky; the step father of Rick Hooker of Chandler, Arizona. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Nancy (Bernard) Smith and Charlie Smith and by his siblings; Ielene Roberts, Jessie Smith, McCoy Smith, McColonel Smith, and Charles Smith Jr, and by his first wife, Juanita (Hampton) Smith. Funeral services for Cornell Smith will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday December 14, 2017 at Freedom United Baptist Church with Bro. Adam Hooker officiating. Burial will follow at Charlie Smith Cemetery. The family of Cornell Smith will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday December 13, 2017 and at Freedom United Baptist Church from 11:00 AM until the service hour on Thursday December 14, 2017.Read Obituary
