John C. Philpot, age 77, of London, Kentucky passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was the father of; Crystal Catron of Berea, Kentucky, Ronnie Ray Philpot of Corbin, Kentucky, Donnie “The Mayor” Philpot, Bonnie Lou Philpot, Joyce Ann “Ollie” Philpot, Lonnie “Lockhead” Philpot, and John Dale Philpot all of London, Kentucky, and Katherine Cole of Lily, Kentucky, the brother of; Stanley Philpot, Etta Mae Hammons, Claude Philpot, Arthur Philpot, Helen Jewel, Larry Philpot, Glenn Philpot, Pauline Sherman, and Elbert Philpot all of London, Kentucky and Ray Philpot of Versailles, Kentucky. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; Shannon Rimas, Christopher "Bub" Philpot, Bill Cole, Becki Cole, Angela Hall, Ashley Kenney, Jeremy Lawson, Birdget Philpot, Trevor Gilbert, Morgan Annalee Philpot, Luke Philpot, Aaron Philpot, Makinlee Philpot, Maylee Philpot, Channing Catron, Caleb Catron and by twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth (Hensley) Philpot, and by his parents, Dale Philpot and Louisa (Hicks) Philpot. He was of the Christian faith, retired from Independent Pipe Company, was a Kentucky Colonel, and a Laurel County Sheriffs Department Reserve Deputy. Funeral Services for John C. Philpot will be conducted 1:00 PM Thursday, June 21, 2018 in London Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Benge officiating. Burial will follow at New Salem Cemetery. The family of John C. Philpot will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 20, 2018.
