Leonard Preston Collier, age 76 of Corbin, Kentucky passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Heritage Nursing Home in Corbin, Kentucky. He was the father of Leonard Preston Collier Jr and wife Melanie of Lily, Kentucky, Randy Lee Collier and wife Whitney of Keavy, Kentucky, and Leonard Preston Collier III of London, Kentucky, the brother of Rose Wyatt and Georgie Mae Baker and husband Bruce all of Corbin, Kentucky, and John Collier and wife Rosetta of Lily, Kentucky. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cleo (Ledington) Collier, by his parents, Oval Preston Collier and Mary (Gill) Collier, and by two siblings, Paul Collier and David Andrew Collier. He was a retired electrician, a United Sates Army Veteran, member of Mill Street Church of Christ, a member of Bush Lodge No. 703 F&AM, and Oleika Shrine Temple. Funeral Services for Leonard Preston Collier will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in London Funeral Home Chapel with Donnie Oliver officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens with DAV Chapter 158, Keavy, in charge of military honors. The family of Leonard Preston Collier will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Masonic Services will be conducted 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 21, 2017 by Bush Lodge #703 F&AM. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.Read Obituary
I had the honor of working with this man, not only at the Ambulance Service, but also at Lily Fire Department. Although many years have passed by, I still remember numerous trips to Lexington, and the jokes he would tell. One of the most likeable people I have ever known. A great co-worker, and a great friend. RIP my brother!
Preston was one of the finest men I ever knew. Has so giving and soft spoken. He was a man with no enemies that I know of. Loved by all.
