Alberta (Cole) Simpson, age 91, of London, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Christian Health Care in Corbin, Kentucky. She was the mother of Tony Simpson and Ray Simpson both of London, Kentucky, and Janet Ealy of Manchester, Kentucky. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Amy Oliver, Johnathan Simpson, Jason Simpson, Caleb Ealy, Alisha Ealy, Michael Robinson, and Scott Robinson; and by eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, Elisha Simpson; by her parents, James B. and Nervie (Proffitt) Cole; by her brother, Waldo Cole. Funeral services for Alberta (Cole) Simpson will be conducted on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Delmer Gross and Greg Deaton officiating. Burial will follow at Warrens Groves Cemetery. The family of Alberta (Cole) Simpson will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Monday, November 4, 2019. Serving as pallbearers are: Bill Cole, Caleb Ealy, Johnathan Simpson, Mike Oliver, Hunter Simpson, Ronnie SImpson, and Andy Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be: Jason Simpson, Leon Ealy, Paul Whitworth, Bob Heller, Mike Robinson and Scott Robinson.Read Obituary

I have so many memories of Bert and her family. i want to say first that i appreciate her and her families friendship to my family, The Simpson family is one of the most wonderful and loving families to be friends with. Memories of Bert are her desire to learn so many things from new adventures in the kitchen or everyday things to learn to be more independent. I remember her as a very strong moral woman that loved her family and friends trying to be the best mother and wife she could be. Her never ending fabric and patterns, yarn and different projects. She loved new recipies and beautiful flowers. Elisha, Janet Gail and her would come over and try out her new cakes. Her and mom would sit at each others kitchen tables and have endless conversations. Bert had a good sense of humor and a beautiful smile and laugh. You only have one birth mom, but my moms closest and dearest friends are like second moms. Bert was that type of lady. I know I will and my family will truly miss her, like we have Elisha. Id like to extend my deepest sympathy to her family. Love you all, Missy Dugger

I remember wearing a mermaid scrub top and whenever i went to her room she said it was pretty and i said its the little mermaid and she said in a soft sweet voice,you are my little mermaid o love you so much.Alberta touched my life in so many ways and whenever our clothes would be torn she would leave what she is doing and sew them.My neck was hurting and she gave me a little pillow that she made and told me to sleep on it under my neck.Its sad to see you go but you told me you wanted to.You were more than a friend to me and my resident but you were my family, a grandmah i never had. With much tears i say sleep in paradise Grandmah and one day we both will dance with angels.You were such a devoted Christian .I love you so much . .May your sweet soul R,I,P.
