Bernice (Goforth) Norton

Bernice (Goforth) Norton, 81 of London, KY passed from this life on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital London KY. She was born at home in Bernstadt, KY on March 17, 1941 the daughter of the late Cy and Della (Vaughn) Goforth. She was a graduate of Hazel Green High School and attended Sue Bennett College. She was a homemaker, business owner and retired bookkeeper. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Swiss Colony Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Karen Adams and husband, Mark of Lexington, and Rosemary McDaniel of London; four grandchildren, Angela Wise, and husband Wayne; Sarah Blattman and husband Robert; Matthew Adams all Lexington and Elaina McDaniel of London; six great-grandchildren Kaitlynn and Leland Bayne, Benjamin Wise, Evelyn, Robert and Margaret Blattman all of Lexington. Three sisters Patricia Hampton, Hilda Woodward and husband Larry, Glynna Smtih and husband LeRoy, all of London. Brothers Arvil Goforth and wife Carol Jerry Goforth, and wife Vanda both of London and Bradley Goforth and wife Sharon of Somerset; two sister in laws Katherine Salyers and Wilma Goforth both of London, son in law Greg Hammons and 1st husband Donald Hamm of Lily. Seventeen nieces and nephews, thirty great nieces and nephews and eight great great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a host of family and friends to mourn her passing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie R. Norton; a daughter, Sandra Hammons, two brothers Stanley and Estil Goforth; brother-in-law Henry Hampton and sister in law Inez Norton Hill. Funeral services for Bernice Norton will be conducted Friday, May 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bradley Goforth officiating. Burial will follow at Freedom Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Kentucky. The family of Bernice Norton will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Pallbearers: Matthew Adams, Robert Blattman, Wayne Wise, Seth Blissmer, Larry Woodward, and Elaina McDaniel.
