Brenda Slone, age 75, wife of Ronald Lee Slone of London, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was the mother of Chrystal Shea Madden of London, Kentucky and Deidre Denise Nicolaus of Winter Haven, Florida; the sister of Charles Roark of Georgia. She was also blessed with four grandchildren, Josilyn Howe, Ansley Nicolaus, Arden Nicolaus, and Abbott Nicolaus. She was preceded in death by her parents, William "Billy" Idol and Constance (Talmadge) Brooks; by her siblings, Constance Joetta Roark and Freddie McBee.Funeral services for Brenda Slone will be conducted Thursday, February 17, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at McKee Cemetery in McKee, Kentucky. The family of Brenda Slone will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until the time of service on Thursday, February 17, 2022.Serving as pallbearers will be: Dennis Chaney, Greg Fulton, Jeff Hylton, Tony Jones, Roy Adams, and Wes Lovins.Read Obituary

My sweet childhood and forever friend, Brenda, and I met when we were 5 years old. Just after she moved in next door to us, I was eating a Hershey Bar in the street. I asked if she would like some, and she said yes. I gave her half, and we were best friends from then on. Our mothers made us matching dresses in different colors and we wore them to school all the time. It has been a few years since we have seen each other. I wish I had called her. I loved her dearly. I will meet you again, my friend.

Brenda- most beautiful soul. Her smile lit up every room she was in. The Joy of the Lord was always before her. I have been blessed to know her and to have her as a mentor. I weep for the loss of having her here, but oh how I rejoice for her being with her first love!
