Dennis Wayne Kirby went to his eternal heavenly home on Thursday, June 3rd at the Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington KY where he had fought a hard battle with colon cancer.Dennis was born in Berea, Kentucky on Oct. 15th, 1956 to Vernon Lee Kirby and Lorene Jones Kirby. He was 64 years old.Dennis was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University, held a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, and graduated with honors. He was a hard worker, was a business owner, was a professional in blacktop sealcoating, was a stone mason, held a certification in electricity, was a carpenter who could build anything, and was a man who knew how to repair almost anything that was torn up. He was an avid golfer, an enthusiastic Kentucky basketball fan, and loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Dennis was soft spoken and had a gentle spirit. He was a faithful husband, a loving parent, a kind neighbor, and a good friend to so many.He is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years Peggy Jo Durham Kirby, and his son Nathan Andrew Kirby, both of London KY. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Jerry Harmon Kirby (Bonnie) of Berea KY, Larry Benjamin Kirby of London KY, and a sister Phyllis Ann Kirby of Berea KY, also a host of other family members and special friends who mourn his passing. Dennis became a born again Christian and left a sure testimony of being saved by Jesus Christ just hours before his life on earth came to an end.All burial arrangements for Dennis Wayne Kirby are private and are being handled by his friends at the London Funeral Home.
