He is survived by his wife, Mary Jeanne Fiechter, daughters, Jennifer Lanham (Robbie) of Corbin, Kentucky and Donna Jeanne Black (Jamie) of Arab, Alabama, the brother of Ercel Fiechter of London, Kentucky and Conrad Fiechter of Venice, Florida. He is also survived by four grandsons, Wesley Lanham (Sherry) of Campbellsville, Kentucky, Justin Sulfridge (Lauren) of Madison, Alabama, Cory Lanham (Morgan) of Louisville, Kentucky, and Logan Sulfridge (Laura) of Arab, Alabama and by two great-grandchildren, Annabeth Lanham of Campbellsville, Kentucky and Parker Sulfridge of Madison, Alabama.Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Annie Gumm Fiechter, two brothers, Paul W. Fiechter and William “Bill” Fiechter and five sisters, Rosa Fiechter, Thelma Moren, Roberta Moberly, Julia Early and Ina Mae McPhetridge.Funeral services for Donald G. Fiechter will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2021 in London Funeral Home Chapel with Trent Pool officiating. Burial will follow at the Pine Hill Cemetery.The family of Donald G. Fiechter will receive friends at London Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Saturday, February 20, 2021 until the funeral hour.Serving as pallbearers will be: Wesley Lanham, Justin Sulfridge, Cory Lanham, Logan Sulfridge, Robbie Lanham and Jamie Black.All families respectfully request that all visitors wear a face covering and adhere to social distancing recommendation.Read Obituary

Donald Gilbert

I first met Don (first cousin by marriage) in 1966 on my first trip to Kentucky. From the day we met, Don was friendly, gracious and made me feel very welcome. We visited Mary Jeanne and Don a number of times over the years and Don was always the same. He made us want to return and spend time with them and he always took us back to the Samuel Gilbert homestead and Mary Jeanne told us about family history. I will always be thankful that I was able to meet and spent time with him.

Don will be greatly missed and his zest for living will never be forgotten. His love for God, his family, the University of Kentucky Wildcats, golf, and the Cincinnati Reds is difficult to match. Don always had a smile on his face and something quick-witted to say. He made others laugh and smile.I miss those special times we, as extended family, shared for so many years. However, I have so many beautiful memories emblazoned upon my heart and in my mind. Don will never be forgotten but cherished as a special man and servant of God.
