Dorothy Lee Oliver

Dorothy Lee (King) Oliver, age 87, of East Bernstadt, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly. She was the mother of David Oliver and wife Henrietta, and Cathy Sowder all of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, and Regina Armstrong of London, Kentucky; the mother-in-law of Debbie Oliver of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. She was also blessed with eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her spouse, James Robert Oliver; by one son, Jimmy Oliver; by her son-in-law, Rodney Duane Armstrong; by her parents, Abel Preston and Ollie (Madden) King; and by her siblings, Alice Conder, Rebecca Metzger, Leroy King, and Billy Joe King. She was a member of Hazel Patch Baptist Church of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. Funeral services for Dorothy Lee (King) Oliver will be conducted Friday, July 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Hazel Patch Baptist Church, 8210 US-25, East Bernstadt, Kentucky with Pastor Randy Bingham and Bro. Denny McCowan officiating. Burial will follow at Bales Cemetery at Livingston, Kentucky. The family of Dorothy Lee (King) Oliver welcomes family and friends at Hazel Patch Baptist Church after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to: “Fish’n for Missions” 1835 North Laurel Road, London, Kentucky 40741 or Shepherds Cove Dementia Unit at Laurel Heights, P.O. Box 1800, London, Kentucky 40743. Serving as pallbearers will be: Charles Sowder, Matthew Armstrong, Robbie Oliver, Jesse Armstrong, Justin Oliver, and Brian Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be: Millie Mae and Windle Mink, Sue and Clyde Eversole, Nancy and Gorman Bennett. London Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
