Edward Leon Burkhart

Edward Leon Burkhart, age 82, of London, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. He was united in marriage to his wife of 40 years, Velma (Reynolds) Burkhart who preceded him in death. He was the father of Joyce Smith and husband Charles and Eddie Lee Burkhart and wife Renee all of London, Kentucky; the brother of Donnie Burkhart and wife Kay of London, Kentucky. He was also blessed with six grandchildren, Jessica Hoskins, Bryan Robinson, Kelly Williams, Kayla Burkhart, Nicholas Burkhart, and Presley Burkhart; and six great-grandchildren, Austin Ramos, AJ Ramos, Aliciya Ramos, Taylor Hoskins, Harlyn Cooper Williams, and Emma Rose Sansone. He is also survived by a host of family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edd and Gladys (Martin) Burkhart; by his siblings, Bobby Burkhart and Chuck Burkhart.Funeral services for Edward Leon Burkhart will be conducted Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Benge officiating. Burial will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park with DAV Chapter 158 Keavy in charge of military honors.
