Edward Sibert, age 87, husband of Opal (Thompson) Sibert of London, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2017 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the father of JoEllen Langley and husband Don, Sue Ann Rudder and husband Dennis, Linda Baker and husband Arlie, Grace Gilbert and husband Michael, and Edwina (Sibert) Grimes and husband Derrick all of London, Kentucky, and Julie Smith and husband Oscar of Manchester, Kentucky; the brother of Dewey Sibert, Myrtle Tucker and husband Ned, and Ruby Batesole and husband Jerry all of Sandusky, Ohio. He was also blessed with fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Boone Sibert and Harriet (Hensley) Sibert; by his siblings, Howard Sibert, Bert Sibert, T.J. Sibert, Mary Smith, Minerva Smith, Ann Lewis, and Lillian Weaver. He was a Member of Calvary Baptist Church and a Federal Mine Inspector. Graveside services and burial for Edward Sibert will be conducted Monday, September 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Weaver Cemetery with Harlan Avera and Jamie Maxey officiating, with DAV Chapter 158, Keavy,in charge of military honors. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to: Gideons International, P.O. Box 131, London, Kentucky 40743. London Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Serving as pallbearers are: Keith Langley, Kevin Langley, Kyle Rudder, Connor Rudder, Austin Rudder, Bryant Grimes, Cory Grimes, Taylor Sizemore, and Jasper Binder. A celebration of life will be held at Calvary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall directly following the graveside service at approximately 4:00 PM.
