Freda (McHargue) Craig, age 92, of Lily, Kentucky passed away Thursday, July 05, 2018 at her residence. She was the mother of Vesta Grubb and husband Linville, and Bill Craig all of Lily, Kentucky, and Lucy Cornelius and husband Gordon of London, Kentucky. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Brian, Tracie, Heather, Shannon, Amanda, and Ashley, nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Frank Craig, by her parents, Ernest McHargue and Lucy (DeWeese) McHargue, by one grandchild, Anna Desantis, and by her siblings; Vestia Hammons, Ernest McHargue Jr., and Claude McHargue. She was a member of McHargue Christian Church and was involved with the Laurel County Homemakers Association. Funeral Services for Freda (McHargue) Craig will be conducted 4:00PM Sunday, July 08, 2018 at McHargue Christian Church with Charles Taylor and Arnold Hammons officiating. Burial will follow at McHargue Cemetery. The family of Freda (McHargue) Craig will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Saturday, July 07, 2018 and from 3:00PM Sunday, July 08, 2018 until the funeral hour at McHargue Christian Church. Pallbearers will be: John Engle, Brian Grubb, Jonathan Bates, Dakota Lipster, Seth Desantis, and Warren Jones.Read Obituary

Freda was such a precious lady. I have so many memories of her and Frank all my growing up years. I remember a big smile anytime I saw her and always asking how I was and my family. A good wife and mother. Hard working like my Mom and always looking to help family and neighbors. A good faithful Christian and I know she is reaping her rewards today and forever. I pray Gods great comfort and peace for all the family. To be separated from one so dear is so hard but The Lord will sustain you in the days to come until you meet again.

As a child, I attended McHargue and loved all the good folks there, especially Freda and Frank. I think of those days sometimes and especially remember how friendly Freda always was and I remember her laugh. I was a witness to her strength as a Christian, mother, and friend. I loved Freda as she was always so nice to me and the same every time you saw her. I have many good memories of her when I was a child at McHargue. She gave me a momento long ago that I cherish and have still today. I pray her family, who loved her so very much, will be comforted. ~~Glenda and Nicholas Baker.

Going to the McHargue Church and seeing Freda and Frank was always best part of our trips to KY. It’s was like going home. I will miss her!
