George Edward "Peanut" Smith

George Edward (Peanut) Smith, age 86, of London, Kentucky passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Helen (Martin) Smith. By his children, Linda Catching and husband Dale, Marvin Smith and wife Lyn, and Debbie Hammons and husband John all of London, Kentucky. Brenda Noe and husband Steven of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. By his siblings, Carl Smith and Evelyn Frog Smith of London, Kentucky. He was blessed with four grandchildren, Karry Cowan (Eric), Kelsi Monroe (Kenny), Kayla Robinson, and Tara Catching all of London, Kentucky. By seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Kaleb, Jourdyn, Kenny Jr., Remi, Jacob, and Lucas. Also a host of nieces and nephews to mourn his passing. He is preceded in death by his father, John Smith; by his mother, Blanche (Adams) Smith; a son, Edward Lee Smith; and his sister, Mary Gregory.George was retired from London Church Furniture.Funeral services for George “Peanut” Smith will be conducted Sunday, October 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Burkhart officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery. The family of George “Peanut” Smith will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 9, 2021.Serving as pallbearers will be: Eric Cowan, Kenny Monroe, Dean Hammons, Rick Westerfield, Joey Bailey, and Donnie Burkhart.
