Gilbert Simpson

Gilbert Simpson, age 78, of Morristown, Indiana and formerly of Laurel County Kentucky, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday April 16, 2019 at his residence surrounded by many family, friends, and precious caregivers. He was the father of Melissa Brock of Indianapolis, Indiana; Eddie Simpson of Franklin, Indiana; Wayne Simpson of Lexington, Kentucky; and Linda Chittenden of Amo, Indiana. He was the brother of Lena House of London, Kentucky; Goldie Brown and Betty Wilson both of Leslie County, Kentucky.He is also survived by Ida Turner his beloved friend, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Linda Gilbert Simpson; his siblings Robert Simpson, Joe Simpson, Ace Simpson and Helen Caldwell; Evelyn Simpson; and his granddaughter, our forever angel Brandy Brock; along with a host of other relatives and friends.He was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church. He was devoted to his family and helping people. He was loved and adored by everyone he met. He filled the world with so much laughter and so many smiles with his witty and cheerful sense of humor. He was the owner of Simpson Roofing Company and in later years retired from Karns, Inc. where he was a heavy equipment operator.The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to his hospice nurses; Margaret, Jenn, Joy, Amanda, Pansy, Brenda, and Lorenda. You are all angels on earth and a blessing to each life you touch.Funeral Services for Gilbert Simpson will be conducted Friday April 19, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Simpson Cemetery. The family of Gilbert Simpson will receive friends at London Funeral Home on Friday April 19, 2019 from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Pallbearers are Mike Atkins, Nate Simpson, Micah Cox, Makyle Cox, Montana Cobb, Reece Atkins, Justin Simpson, and Hoy Simpson.Read Obituary
