James Baker, age 94, husband of Lucille (Roberts) Baker of Franklin, Ohio and formerly of London, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Dayton V.A. Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. He was the father of Wilma Roberts and Don R. Baker both of Franklin, Ohio and Terry L. Baker of London, Kentucky; the brother of Sam Baker of Dayton, Ohio, and Edna Kemper of Hyden, Kentucky. He was also survived by four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one son, James M. Baker; by his parents Brett & Lida (Bowling) Baker; and by his siblings, Beulah Sizemore, Jessie Whitehead, Eunice Griffith, Cora Johnson, Rowena Roberts, Pearlie Showater, Dorothy Bowling and Kenneth Baker. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and member of Faith Fellowship. Funeral services for James Baker will be conducted Friday, October 25, 2019 at 1:00 PM in London Funeral Home Chapel with James Junior Bowling, Harold Kemper, and Steve Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park with DAV Chapter 158 Keavy in charge of military honors. James is a great man and will be missed by so many friends of his. I will miss him greatly. My heart goes out to family and all that knew James. My prayers will go out to his family and friends. Rest in peace and the home that God prepared for him.
So sorry of Uncle James passing, Praying for special comfort for the family in the days and weeks ahead. Would love to be there but under the circumstances will not be able to make it. God Bless all of you.
Saying goodbyes is always hard but saying goodbye to your hero is even harder especially since that goodbye is your big brother.who you have looked up to all your life.who had your back when you got in trouble.i didn’t know when I said goodbye that day that.god would call you home the the next day. But I got the chance to tell you that I loved you.and hopefully we will see each other again.

My most treasured memories of Uncle James is how he and Aunt Lucille gave me a place to stay when I left home 59 years ago and came to Dayton Ohio to go work. They treated me as one of the family! They will always have a special place in my heart.
