James Ward Whitaker

James Ward Whitaker, age 85, of Stanford, Kentucky and formerly of Laurel County, Kentucky passed away Saturday April 8, 2017 at Ephraim McDowell Reginal Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky. He was the father of John Whitaker and wife Joretta of London, Kentucky; the brother of Billie Jean Fore of Lexington, Kentucky and Mary Virginia May of Nelsonville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta (Darnell) Whitaker; by his parents, Alma (Eades) Whitaker and William Whitaker; and by his brother, Carl Whitaker. Funeral services for James Ward Whitaker will be conducted Wednesday April 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM in London Funeral Home Chapel with Donald Tackett and William R. Julian officiating. Burial will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park with DAV Chapter 158, Keavy, in charge of military honors. The family of James Ward Whitaker will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 PM on Tuesday April 11, 2017. Pallbearers will be Larry Jones, Raymond Brown, Tom Julian, Jim Truett, J.R.
