Jennings Gilbert

Jennings Gilbert, age 84, loving husband of Greta (Bruner) Gilbert for sixty-one years of London, Kentucky passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 at Saint Joseph London Hospital. He was the father of Kim Hooker Grant and husband Larry, Julian Keith Gilbert, and Kelli Amanda Gray and husband Dean all of London, Kentucky, the brother of Billy Gilbert and wife Ronnie Lou of London, Kentucky. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. Gilbert and Sallie (Britton) Gilbert, by one sister, Laddie Joyce Gilbert, and by one grandson, Jonathan Walton Hooker. He was an active member of Freedom United Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and clerk. Funeral Services for Jennings Gilbert will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Freedom United Baptist Church with Pastor Adam Hooker, Matthew Gilbert, and Bro. Terry Gabbard officiating. Burial will follow at Freedom Cemetery with DAV Chapter 165, McKee, Kentucky in charge of military honors. The family of Jennings Gilbert will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 PM Saturday, July 29, 2017 and from 1:00 PM Sunday, July 30, 2017 until the funeral hour at Freedom United Baptist Church. London Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements. Serving as pallbearers; Michael Gilbert, Brian Gray, Chad Robinson, Jeremy Berta, Jamie Gilbert, John Gilbert, and Jimmy Swafford.
