She was the mother of Michelle Garland of London, Kentucky; the sister of Wayne Garland, Bobby Garland, Gary Garland, Bruce Garland, Dennis Garland and Danny Garland all of London, Kentucky. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Paul Bozeman of Knoxville, Tennessee, Little Tim Garland of London, Kentucky and Savannah Eldridge of Knoxville, Tennessee and one great-grandchild, Ryder Garland of London, Kentucky. She was also blessed with a host of nieces and nephews to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by one son, Timmy Garland and by her parents Johnny and Bonnie (Bolton) Garland. A Gathering of Remembrance for Julia Darlene Garland will be conducted Monday August 29, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Danny England officiating. Burial will follow at East Salem Cemetery at a later date. The family of Julia Darlene Garland will receive friends in London Funeral Home Chapel after 6:00 P. .M. Monday August 29,2022 until time of service. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to London Funeral Home toward funeral expense.Read Obituary

As cousins, we did not get to see each other very often. I live in Ohio, and our family would come to London once a year. The memories I have of Darlene was of playing ball in the front yard, running foot races in Ma and Pa's front yard, whole Pa sat in his chair being the starter. As time slipped by, we lost contact and grew apart. I have not seen Darlene in several years and did not know her children.
My condolences to her daughter, her brothers, Wayne, Bobby, Gary, Bruce, Dennis, and Danny. It is hard to have a sibling pass away, but you still have the memories of her in your hearts. May the Lord Jesus Christ bless you all and give you his peace during this time.

We were a family of many cousins growing up. We spent many childhood weekends at Ma and Pa Garland's romping the fields, the orchard, the tobacco beds, and searching for critters at the edge of the pond. I remember Darlene's feisty spirit and her eager laughter. We often played dress-up and got into her mother's makeup. I didn't know the adult Darlene, but I do miss that child.
