Leroy Brummett, age 61, of Corbin, Kentucky passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at Middlesboro ARH in Middlesboro, Kentucky. He was the father of Leesa Gumm and husband Merle of Corbin, Kentucky, Julia Coleman and husband Derick of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, and Shane Brummett and wife Kristen of Georgetown, Ohio; the son of Harold Brummett, Sr., of Buford, Ohio; the brother of Betty Hensley and husband Charles of Lynchburg, Ohio, and Harold Brummett, Jr. of Buford, Ohio. He was also blessed with seven grandchildren, Dustin Bice, Sierra Gumm, Dylan Gumm, Alivia Brummett, Makenna Brummett, Leland Coleman, and Easton Coleman; by four great grandchildren, Harley Bice, Hunter Bice, Raelynn Bice, and Allee Diggs. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah (Fisher) Brummett, and by his mother, Louise Brummett. Funeral services for Leroy Brummett will be conducted Friday, September 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Willard Creech officiating. Burial will follow at McQueen-Norton Cemetery. The family of Leroy Brummett will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour on Friday, September 28, 2018. Pallbearers will be: Shane Brummett, Dylan Gumm, Derick Coleman, Dustin Bice, Andy Diggs, and Jerry Gumm.Read Obituary

Been thinking about what I want to say about my Uncle Leroy. He was my favorite uncle without a doubt. He's the one who taught me how to drive. My love of the Bengals comes from the times Uncle Leroy took me to training camp and scrimmages as a kid. Uncle Leroy was the first person to introduce me to Lynard Skynard. I remember the time I somehow got a toothpick stuck in my foot as a kid. I wouldn't let my Mom touch it. Uncle Leroy came over, told me to pinch my nose, and as quick as a flash had it out. I remember how proud both him and my Aunt Debbie were the day I graduated high school. Bailey called him her Uncle Phil-roy, because of how much he looked like Phil Robertson in his later years. She still sleeps with her Si pillow he got her every night. The last few years were hard for Leroy, having the Been thinking about what I want to say about my Uncle Leroy. The last few years were hard for Leroy, having the strokes and all. But I can remember him still being able to laugh and smile the last few times I was down to see him. My heart breaks thinking that I'll never see him again in this world. I just hope that he knew how much I loved him and that he will always be in my heart. and all. I will never forget Leroy. He is one of my favorite memories. We grew up together. When we will little we would argue and sometimes fight. I loved to rub his burhead, and he hated it. I loved the way his head felt. He didn't like it. He would yell and tell me to stop. I would always come back and do it again - big mistake, he was a force to be reckoned with. He got mad at me for scratching him and he told me I had brought blood and he was going to kill me. He started chasing me across a field into my house and my mom saved me. I never thought he could catch me with his short legs - but he proved me wrong! He was so funny. We have so many stories about him. He was a wonderful cousin and my mom loved him so much. When she got really sick, she kept asking for Leroy-he came to the hospital. He walked in and sat at the end of her bed. He said "hello Mae" and just sat quietly and watched her. She was so happy to see him. He was a good human being. He is in paradise with his wife, and his mom and all the other people that loved him. We love you Leroy - little burhead!!
