Lige Woods, age 88, husband of 68 years of Sophie (Gay) Woods of East Bernstadt, Kentucky passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 at his residence. He was the father of Judy Woods Nose and husband John Nose of London, Kentucky, and Gary Wayne Woods and wife Brenda Harrison Woods of East Bernstadt, Kentucky; the brother of Juanita Woods Jones of London, Kentucky, and Lois Putman and husband Steve Putman of Carol, Michigan. He was also blessed with five grandchildren, Michelle Foley Osborne and husband Devin Osborne, Melissa Shawntae Nose Bowman and husband Charlie Bowman, Christian Nicole "Nikki" Woods Hensley and Shane Waits, Gary Lance Woods and wife Amy Tyree Woods, and Ashley Marie Nose Gray and husband Robert Kyle Gray; and by eight great grandchildren, Kelsey, Emma, Jackson, Colt, Silas, Addie, Maggie, and Eli. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Ann Woods; by his parents, Chester Woods and wife Alice Woods, and Ellar Burns and husband Green Burns; and by his siblings, Philmore Woods, Elaine Woods, Edna Woods Watts, and Nellie Woods Osborne.He was a member of Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, a board member of Crossroads Fire Department, a member of the Cattleman's Association, a truck driver for 25 years, a factory worker for 25 years, an avid farmer for 60 years, and was known by all as the hardest working person they ever knew. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.Funeral services for Lige Woods will be conducted Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 12:00 noon in London Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Craig Morgan and Bro. Carl Allen officiating. Burial will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park. The family of Lige Woods will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.Serving as pallbearers will be: Lance Woods, Devin Osborne, Kyle Gray, Shane Waits, Charlie Bowman, and John Nose.Read Obituary
