Lois P. Stanley Murphy, age 87, of Keavy, Kentucky went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at her residence. She was the mother of James L. Murphy and wife Kathy of Keavy, Kentucky, Kenneth A. Murphy of Somerset, and Dani L. Murphy of Keavy and honorary children, Lyndal Abell Harvey and Paulette Abell Perkinson; the grandmother of Jamie A. Murphy, Jason K. Murphy both of Somerset, Kentucky, Heather M. Williams and husband Jason of Corbin, Kentucky, and Stephanie A. Payne and husband Preston of London, Kentucky; the great grandmother of Jalyn Murphy, Annabell Murphy, Adalyn Williams, Cole Williams, Paisley Payne, and Levi Payne. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James L. Murphy, Jr.; by her parents, Jesse Lee Stanley and Mary Henning Stanley; by her siblings, Paul V. Stanley, James H. Stanley, Earl H. Stanley, Rosemont C. Stanley, Margaret Lee Stanley McCormick, Della Marie Stanley Abell Phegley; by her great grandchild, Ella Faith Williams (daughter of Jason and Heather Williams); and by her nieces and nephews, Jonathan Earl Stanley, Paul Joseph Stanley, and Karen Leah Abell Burr. She had taught Sunday School for many years, played organ and was active in the WMU. She had been the secretary of the Laurel River Baptist Association, and Church Secretary before her retirement. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Funeral services for Lois P. (Stanley) Murphy will be conducted Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Deaton and Ronnie Gish officiating. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery. The family of Lois P. (Stanley) Murphy will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Thursday. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons and nephews, Jamie A. Murphy, Jason K. Murphy, Jason Williams, Preston Payne, Ronnie Gish, and Claude Watkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews, Ronnie Perkinson, Randy Harvey, and Michael Stanley. The family respectfully requests that all visitors wear a mask and adhere to social distancing recommendations.
