Murrell Gene Allen

Murrell Gene Allen, age 76, husband of Betty (Asher) Allen of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 27, 2020 at U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the father of Charles Eugene Allen and wife Donna of East Bernstadt, Kentucky, and Mark Lyndsey Allen of London, Kentucky; the grandfather of, Heather Jackson and husband Chad of London, Kentucky, Christopher Allen, Sara Allen, and Sean Allen all of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by one son, Murrell Christopher Allen; by his parents, Charles Buster Allen and Cordelia (Reid) Allen; by his siblings, Jerry Allen and Earl Allen. He was the Longest Serving School Board Member in the State of Kentucky, having served 53 years, a member of CD Ward Masonic Lodge #961, and member of New Hopewell Baptist Church. Funeral services for Murrell Gene Allen will be conducted Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Lewis, Denny McCowan, and Bro. Charlie Helton officiating. Burial will follow at Taylor Cemetery, Blackwater, Kentucky. The family of Murrell Gene Allen will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Saturday, February 1, 2020. Serving as pallbearers are: Christopher Allen, Kip Jervis, Donovan Storm, Chad Jackson, Abby Hale, Kenny Woodruff, Bud Stuber, and Harley Fultz. Honorary pallbearers will be: East Bernstadt School Board Members; Jim Sutton, Tom Caudill, Lucas Joyner, and Mequeil Storm.Read Obituary
