Noris Dean Bruner, age 77 of London, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Saint Joseph London Hospital. He leaves behind his wife of 58 years, Carol (Weaver) Bruner of London, Kentucky; three children, Steven Bruner and wife Sherry of London, Kentucky, Lisa Shaver and husband Tim of Powell, Tennessee, and Stacey Bruner and wife Robin of London, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Rachel Doughty, Noel White, Kendra Turner, Deanna Hale; five great-grandchildren, Zeke and Zoe Doughty, Johnathon, Emily, and Cooper White; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Bruner and Omah (Tuttle) Bruner; and by his brother, Kenneth Bruner.He was a farmer, factory worker, and a member of Blackwater United Baptist Church.Funeral services for Noris Dean Bruner will be conducted Monday, September 13, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Gabbard and Bro. David Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Hale Cemetery. The family of Noris Dean Bruner will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until the time of service on Monday.Serving as pallbearers will be: Derek Wyatt, Roger Taylor, Jerry Wyatt, Nick Price, Michael Doughty, and Scott Weaver. What a gentle, loving man was my Uncle Noris. Though I have lived away from home (London) for many years, each time I returned one of my favorite things was to get a big hug from Uncle Noris. I will miss you my dear Uncle but will see you again! All of my love and prayers to you Aunt Carol, and cousins, Steve, Lisa, and Stacy and all of the family!

My Uncle Noris was soft-spoken, loving and kind. He cared deeply about others and helped those in need whenever he could. Interacting with, and watching, him over many years, and from all I know of him from others, he lived out the commands of his Savior Jesus Christ—to love God and love others as himself.

Uncle Noris’ face would light in a big smile whenever he saw me. He wanted to know how I was doing, and he listened carefully to whatever I had to say. His whole demeanor, and especially his eyes, showed his genuine interest. He treated people as if they mattered—and they did matter to him.

Uncle Noris mattered to me! He was fun to be around, and though he joked and teased at times, he was sensitive to the impact of his comments. Whenever he sensed a hint of hurt or offense, he quickly put matters right. And when we parted, there was always a hug or loving pat on the shoulder and a word of encouragement. I will miss that, but look forward to it again in Heaven some day!

Uncle Noris greatly loved his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all of his extended family! He loved his friends and neighbors, too. But, his love for, and devotion to, my dear Aunt Carol was above all but his Savior and impressed me even as a child. And over 58 years, she gave both to him as well. The loss is great, but temporary—for I have every confidence that Uncle Noris and Aunt Carol will, in God’s good time, be together again with Jesus for all eternity!

I will always love you, Uncle Noris! May God wrap your family and all who grieve your passing in His precious arms and give His peace that passes all understanding!
