He was born October 6, 1948, in London, Kentucky to Lewis and Leafie (Proffitt) Hammock.Orville spent his spare time enjoying camping and fishing with family. He graduated from Bush High School. He worked as a truck escort and traveled all across the united states. He met his wife and married Shirley Bostick on July 20th, 1983. They resided in their home in London, KY. Mrs. Hammock tended to his bookkeeping and currently spends her time as a homemaker. He was the father of Roger Hammock and wife Sandy, David Bostick, Connie Creech and husband Larry, and Misty Bostick and Alvin Spencer all of London, Kentucky; the brother of Verda Howard of Florida, Shirley Hammock, Rose Wells, and Lewis Hammock, Jr., all of London, Kentucky, and Kenneth Hammock of Ohio. He was also blessed with ten grandchildren, John Hall and wife Alicia, Kendra Branstutter and husband Travis, Jessica Gilmore and husband Phil, Amy Muncy and husband Coty, Alisa Hammock, Natasha Osborne, Danny Hall, Justin Hall and Megan, Josh Hall and wife Jacqueline, Tiffany Smith and husband Rusty; by fifteen great grandchildren, Jacob Hall, Julie Hall, Hunter Hall, Kaylee Smiddy, Olivia Gilmore, Kaden Sizemore, Mallory Gibbs, Kinsley Clark, Luke Clark, Jordan Clark, Damian Hall, Jace Hall, Hailey Hall, Jayla Hall, Madelyn Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Hammock and Leafie (Proffitt) Hammock; and by his sister, Mazie Stephenson and brother, Claytus Hammock. Funeral services for Orville Daniel Hammock will be conducted Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Roger Hammock and Ted Eversole officiating. Burial will follow at East Colony Cemetery. The family of Orville Daniel Hammock will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, September 23, 2021.Serving as pallbearers will be: John Hall, Danny Hall, Justin Hall, Joshua Hall, Rusty Smith, and Jacob Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be: Roger Hammock and Larry Creech.
