Paul Junior Baker, age 78, of Orlando, Kentucky passed away in Lancaster, Kentucky on June 18th, 2022. He was born at Baker Fork in Leslie County on August 31, 1943. Paul was the son of the late Wilson Baker and Recey (Pennington) Baker. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary (Baker) Joseph, five brothers- Harvey Baker, Dennis Baker, Pearl Baker, Coy Baker, and W.T. Baker, as well as a brother-in-law, Paul Day and a sister-in-law, Faye (Wells) Baker.Paul is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jewell (Wells) Baker, of Orlando Kentucky, a son Paul Keith Baker (wife Elena), of Lancaster, Kentucky, a granddaughter, Shelby Baker and a grandson, John Hagan Baker, both of Lexington Kentucky. He also had three step-grand children; Trey Smith of Lexington, Kentucky, Lindsay (Toullie) Smith of Kingwood, Texas and Jordan Crutchfield (Husband Spencer) and two step-great grandchildren Cam and Sloane Crutchfield all of Lancaster, Kentucky.Paul is also survived by a brother, James Baker (Wife Margaret) of Lancaster, Kentucky, three sisters; Marie Day of Smilax, Kentucky, Loretta Steele (Husband Mike) of Lexington, Kentucky and Margaret Day (Husband Clinton) of Lancaster, Kentucky, as well as a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and friends all of whom he loved very much.Paul Baker graduated from Leslie County High School in 1961. He had numerous jobs in his lifetime, including that of a shipping clerk for Industrial Distributors of London, Kentucky and at a plant in Palmyra, Wisconsin. He worked as a machine mechanic at Werner Sewing Factory in London, Kentucky. Additionally, Paul drove a tractor/trailer delivering food and produce locally as well as to Somerset and Eastern Kentucky. He loved to talk to people, tease and cut-up. He liked to have people over to play games and enjoy a meal together.Paul was an active member of the Berea Church of Christ. Besides studying his bible, he enjoyed raising a large garden every year to share with his family, his neighbors and friends. In his younger years, he and his family spent a lot of time together camping out, water skiing and on family vacations. He had a good life.Funeral services for Paul Baker will be conducted Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Day officiating. Burial will follow at Wells Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be: Arlie Baker, Eddie Howard, Mark Irvin, Luke Kilbourne, Zachary Steele, Nate Steeley, Ronnie Wells, and Jason Worley. The family of Paul Baker will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, for those who would like to make a charitable gift, the family requests any donations be made to Shriners Children Hospital or St. Jude Research Hospital.
