Pastor Rufus Slusher

Pastor Rufus Slusher, age 83, husband of Lora (Smith) Slusher of London, Kentucky passed away Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the father of Debra Brown and husband Halix, Tim Slusher and wife Dolores, Karen Fawn Bruner, and Robin Marie Baker all of London, Kentucky, Bridgett Sizemore and husband Jeff of Fariston, Kentucky, and Mark Slusher and wife Jewel of Cocoa, Florida; the brother of Clifford Slusher and wife Norma Jean and Linda Ruth Cottengim & husband Bud all of London, Kentucky, and Lucy Smith and husband Lester of Oneida, Kentucky; the stepfather of Tony Asher and wife Ruth Ann, Karen Napier and husband Jerry, and Teresa Robbins and husband John Wiley all of Arjay, Kentucky, Serena Lynne Roberts and husband Jody of London, Kentucky, and Sandra Hamilton and husband Jeff of Knoxville, Tennessee. He is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Alice Faye (Brock) Slusher; by two sons, Joey Slusher and Jason Slusher; by his parents, Joe H. and Shirley (Brummett) Slusher; by his siblings, George Slusher, Joe E. Slusher, and Amanda Roark. Funeral services for Pastor Rufus Slusher will be conducted Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Demus Couch, Michael Lawson, and Herman Asher officiating. Burial will follow at Dunn Cemetery. The family of Pastor Rufus Slusher will receive friends at London Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019. He was Pastor of Layton Hill Holiness Church. Serving as pallbearers are: John Bruner, Brandon Morgan, Wendel Saylor, Michael Whitehead, Kaitlyn Baker, Bethany Slusher, Chris Sizemore, and Aaron Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be: Trevor Bruner, Jason Morgan, Joey Slusher, Bryan Slusher, and Anthony Caldwell.Read Obituary
