Willard B. Steward, age 93, of London, Kentucky passed away Monday, August 17, 2020 at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly. He was the father of Pam Lawson and husband Roger of London, Kentucky; the brother of Leo Steward of Fairfield, Ohio. He was also blessed with five grandchildren, Jeff Cline, Melissa Howell and husband Carl, and Ashley Owens and husband Jeremy all of London, Kentucky, Amy Whittington and husband Scott of Lexington, Kentucky, and Tia Steward of Louisville, Kentucky; by six great grandchildren, Caiden Cline, Kristin Howell, Mason Whittington, Bella Whittington, Jace Owens, and Nick Steward. He was preceded in death by his spouse, Almalea (Bowling) Steward; by his son, Anthony Steward, Sr.; by one grandson, Anthony Steward, Jr.; by his parents, Jim and Bettie (Sherman) Steward; and by his siblings, Pearl Wagers, Edith Keith, Neola Johnson, Gib Steward, Dave Steward, Ovid Steward and Owen Steward. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend to many. He lived his life for the Lord, family and friends. If anyone ever needed him no matter what time he was there for them. He was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army. He was a Baptist preacher for about 70 years and was the pastor of Freedom Valley Baptist Church for 30 plus years until his health failed. He attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church the last few years of his life. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services for Willard B. Steward will be conducted Friday, August 21, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in London Funeral Home Chapel with Tony Krahenbuhl, Jamie Krahenbuhl, and Larry Oakley officiating. Burial will follow at McDaniel Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family of Willard B. Steward will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the service time on Friday, August 21, 2020. Serving as pallbearers will be: Jeff Cline, Ron Woodward, John Sexton, Ronnie Simpson, Wendell Merritt, and Dean Johnson.
